about

"Stretch" is Vanilla Riots second album, this time co-produced by Jazkamer's John Hegre at Solslottet in Bergen.
On "Stitch" from 2009 the group tried to make as concrete and stripped-down improvisations as possible. This time they stretch them into more drony territories.

The group has dug itself deeper into the core of noise, and delivers six pieces that requires an attentive listener.
The careful introduction of "Creeper" - starting out with abrupt drums, a rumbling guitar and a distant clarinet carefully closing in, with scattered electronics like blinking warning lights. "Echoes" I and II closing every side of the cassette release with abstract storytelling at its best. "Wake" - an improvised cacophony of depraved synths - or "Chop", an almost anthemic piece, teasing the three minute radioformat.
